November 30th is the postmark date for registration entries to qualify for the performance drawing on the 5th of December. You may also bring your entry to Dorman High School on December 5th by 12 noon to qualify.

11/3/09 CIPA Instructor, Director and Judge Trainings

Western Region Guard Training will be held on Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00 pm in Kingsport, TN at Sullivan North High School on John B. Dennis Hwy. Click Here for directions.
Percussion Training will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 1:00 pm in Roebuck, SC at Dorman High School.
Eastern Region Guard Training will tenatively be held on Sunday, December 13th at 2:00 pm in Spartanburg, SC - Location will be announced soon.

10/19/09 The 2010 Handbook and 2010 Registration forms have been posted. Please reveiw both forms carefully. There have been updates from the results of proposals and Septembers' meeting. Please contact your state represenative with any questions.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family and friends of Helena Ess.

She left this world on October 7, 2009 and will be missed more than words can express. She was an inspiration to our circuit and was there through the good and bad. We will all miss her very much. Thank you Helena for your love and dedication to our programs.

Helena passed away just before 6pm on Wednesday, October 7th. Her husband Terry asked that anyone who would like to pay their respects should make a donation to the Leukemia &... 9/16/09 SEPTEMBER MEETING, THIS SUNDAY IN ASHEVILLE, NC. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND.

The location of the September 20th general meeting will be at The Grove Arcade at 1 Page Ave, Ashville, NC DIRECTIONS

The meeting place is the Grove Arcade basement conference room (one takes the main elevator in the middle of the Arcade corridor down to the P (parking) level, the conference room is at the end of the lobby area.
We are working with Grove Arcade to arrange free parking. If it is a hardship to anyone, you will be reimbursed for your parking expense. We believe the cost was $2.00.

Unfortunately Nancy Strickler has resigned as secretary for The Carolina Indoor Performance Associations. We want to thank Nancy for what she did for the circuit and wish her all the luck in her upcoming endeavors.

Serves a two year term; elected in even years (2008, 2010, etc)

Just a couple of things to pass along.

1. Please be preparing a basket for the scholarship raffle to be held at Championships. We are asking each unit to provide a basket, ALL the money from this goes to students in the form of scholarships. Be creative. This was a huge success last year and we anticipate this years raffle to be much bigger and better. Examples of baskets: "Death by Chocolate", "Coffee Lovers Basket" "A night at the Movies", "Gardening"... You can drop your baskets off at the registration table or at the Raffle table located on the upper concourse when you get to the arena. 2. We are asking each unit to also provide something for the directors hospitality area. Preferably something that does not need to be refrigerated. Again, drop these off at the registration table upon arrival.
3. Flowers will be available for purchase again this year. This money goes directly back to CIPA for Championship expenses. Encourage your "people" to buy flowers from CIPA. 12/31/08 We hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year! The schedules will be up soon, thanks for understanding how busy the holidays are and sorry for the wait.

12/15/08 We want to thank to Chuck Ward and Doug Casteen for sharing their time and their expertise on the score sheets. We also want to thank our local judges for attending along with the instructors that took their time to attend during this busy time of the year. We all learned a lot and we know the programs involved will benefit greatly!

12/11/08 Join us this weekend at North Buncombe High School for a time of training and for the 2009 performance drawing. This educational event is FREE to all members.

12/8/08 If you missed the postmark deadline... If you did not get your registration in the mail by December 5th it isn't too late to be a part of the performance drawing on Saturday. You can still bring your entry and fees to the meeting. The drawing will take place at 6:00 pm. All directors and instructors are invited to participate in the drawing.

SEPTEMBER 2009 MINUTES

11/26/08 Please take a look at the Prep and Novice Sheets and the Intermediate A Sheets to make sure you are aware of which sheet your unit will be judged on as you prepare your production. The score sheet is a great tool in constructing your show.

11/17/08 REGISTRATION REMINDER:
Please Note: To be included in the initial drawing for performance order, entries must be postmarked by Dec 5, 2008 OR brought to the drawing on Dec 13, 2008. The drawing will be held at North Buncombe High School at 6:00 pm. As a courtesy, late fees do not apply until after January 2, 2009 but if forms and fees are not in by December 13th you will not be in the performance order drawing. All member directors/instructors are invited to participate in the drawing order process.
